The PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program contributed a chapter on avian diversity (Eisermann & Avendaño 2006) in a recently published book on biodiversity in Guatemala (Cano, E. 2006: Biodiversidad de Guatemala. Vol. 1. Universidad del Valle de Gutemala, Guatemala.).
The bird chapter includes an updated list of bird species reliably reported in Guatemala, updated distributional information for more than 130 species, an evaluation of vulnerability on a national level using IUCN criteria (IUCN 2001), a bibliography of more than 1200 publications on Guatemalan birds from 1577 to 2004, and a list of international museums with holdings of Guatemalan bird specimens.
The PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program contributed a bilingual (English / Spanish) annotated checklist of the birds of Guatemala, published in 2007 by Lynx Edicions, Barcelona.
The PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program reports noteworthy bird records in the quarterly journal "North American Birds" (see references by Jones and Jones & Komar). Several compilations of bird records were published in individual papers, e.g. distribution of Highland Guan (Eisermann et al. 2006) and distribution of birds in Alta Verapaz (Eisermann 2005, Eisermann & Schulz 2005) and Guatemala (Eisermann & Avendaño 2006).
